The Political Section promotes knowledge and understanding of Switzerland and its policies among the UK’s political authorities and institutions.
The Political Section is responsible for maintaining and developing Switzerland's bilateral relationship with the UK. It monitors developments in UK domestic politics and foreign policy, informing the Swiss authorities of political decisions and trends that are relevant to Switzerland.
Following Brexit, the Political Section has closely followed developments in the relations between the United Kingdom and the European Union, since they have consequences for Switzerland
The Section also represents Swiss interests to the British authorities and liaises with them on matters of common interest and shared foreign policy priorities, such as multilateral affairs, the promotion of human rights, new technologies, mobility and security matters.
