Marking a new step in Swiss-UK security exchange and cooperation

State Secretary Markus Mäder travelled to London for high-level consultations with his UK counterparts on the current threat landscape, security cooperation in Europe and developments in emerging defence technologies.

During his visit, Dr Mäder met with the Defence Minister, Lord Vernon Coaker, and held further discussions with the National Security Advisor (NSA) and senior representatives of the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO). He also exchanged views with experts and leadership figures at the Royal United Services Institute (RUSI) and the International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS).

The talks focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation, assessing shared security challenges and advancing dialogue on innovative defence capabilities.
