The Culture Section builds bridges in art and culture between Switzerland and the United Kingdom. It administers the Swiss Cultural Fund UK.
By collaborating with individuals, cultural foundations, agencies and institutions in Switzerland and the UK, the Culture Section facilitates connections, exchanges and partnerships. It also provides information about funding opportunities and offers regular updates on cultural activities happening in the sectors of visual art, film, design, literature, performing arts and beyond.
The Culture Section collaborates with a broad range of partners, including Presence Switzerland and Pro Helvetia – the Swiss Arts Council for some of our own programming. We promote Swiss excellence in the arts while showcasing strong collaborations, fostering an integrated understanding of Switzerland and the Swiss cultural landscape, and showcasing its diversity and attractiveness.
The Embassy publishes regular updates on Swiss cultural exchanges and events in the UK via Instagram, newsletters and articles (recent and earlier).
Swiss Cultural Fund UK
The Culture Section administers the Swiss Cultural Fund UK (SCF). The SCF supports emerging and established Swiss artistic talents presenting their work in the United Kingdom. It has been sitting at a unique crossroads since its foundation as a charity in 1990.
Privately financed, directed by a Board of cultural experts and operated by the Swiss Embassy, the SCF targets the best Swiss-British matches with an emphasis on the encouragement of new talents.
The charity aims to showcase the best selection of artists and to collaborate with renowned institutions and partners throughout the United Kingdom to ensure the widest possible exposure and a mutually beneficial cultural exchange.
